Gear Motor for Self-sensing Base Station Antenna

How to monitor the antenna in real time and manage it effectively has become the problem for a long time that operators are confronted with. Especially in the status quo that there are scattered stations as well as a large number of antennas, and multiple operators and systems share the electric tower or antenna resources, relying on manual operation not only costs plenty of resources but also leads to some problems such as time-consuming trouble location, not responsive network optimization and low efficiency, thus affecting the image of the network operator.

Project Background: With the development of science and technology, the applications of traffic in the 5G era based on the Internet of things (IoT) will expand. Objects ranging from bracelets and smartwatch to electric automobiles and vast cross-sea bridges will be connected with the network. The upgrade of network traffic they need puts forward higher requirements for each network operator. A high-definition movie can be downloaded in just a few seconds at full speed, and 5G network offers lower latency and faster buffer. 5G network offers higher bandwidth, enabling access to more home and commercial devices.

Project: Gear Motor for Self-sensing Base Station Antenna Tilt Angle Adjustment

Success: This system can store the information about antenna identity and perceive the antenna engineering parameters (antenna azimuth pointing, mechanical downtilt, altitude, latitude and longitude, etc.) and keep the adjustment history of network optimization. It meets the requirements of AISG2.0 and its extended protocol and makes it possible to directly monitor the information about antenna parameters in real time remotely on the back end. Both horizontal and vertical angle adjustable functions help operators quickly adjust the wireless network optimization and intelligently manage the back-end database, greatly enhancing the efficiency and quality of network optimization. The gear motor for self-sensing base station antenna tilt angle adjustment by ZHAOWEI features the following two aspects:

It adopts the planetary gear design. The spindle drive consists of an inner tube and an outer tube. The push-rod motor and planetary gearhead in the inner tube drives the threaded spindle which is fixed on the screw nut inside the outer tube. The electric pillar pushrod uses the electric spindle located in the antenna motor inside the pillar to intelligently adjust the elevation angle direction of the base station antenna according to the bandwidth flow used by the people. Such a drive system facilitates different ranges of coverage, which is convenient and practical.
The antenna gear and tooth profile of the whole base station antenna have been modified and the material is selected to be more temperature-resistant, so as to prevent its performance from being affected by various climate changes outdoors. Thus, products can adapt to various environments with higher product quality and longer service life.

More intelligent antenna management and optimization of the base station can reduce operation costs and improve maintenance efficiency. With the increasingly complex network, the improvement of some intelligent components such as electronic speed control (ESC) module and self-sensing module can make the network operation and maintenance more intelligent. Coverage can greatly improve the reliability of the network and drive to occupy a larger operating market.

The gear motor of antenna system adjustment developed and produced by ZHAOWEI features high precision, high efficiency, long service life, heat & moisture resistance ability and strong stability.

The self-sensing antenna system will become a hot spot of mobile communication antenna in the post-4G era. The one who can solve the problem of antenna base stations must occupy a larger market.
